Murano

Island Murano, a short boat ride from Venice, is renowned for its sophisticate glass making industry. Having been producing beautiful glass crafts for almost a thousand years, Murano attracts glass lovers from all over the world and I wouldn’t miss it.

After we made some purchases from the public shop, including a pair of graceful swans at 11 and 8 inch tall, respectively), we were led into a separate show room behind a closed door. I did not make additional purchase there but persuaded our young sales lady to let us take a snap shot in there.

Burano

There is a Murano and there is a Burano. Another famous island of the Venetian Lagoon is Burano, famous for the delicate lace work hand made by the ladies of Burano.
